It is a quiet night like any other; Marsh is lying down in his bed, unaware of what awaits him. He is a wealthy, powerful man, the head and CEO of a pharmaceutical company, but his success has earned him many enemies.
In the night, three men use the darkness to their advantage: they pin him down, clamp his mouth shut with a handgag, and bind him with tape reinforced by rope. They stuff a red handkerchief into his mouth and seal it tight by wrapping clear adhesive tape around his head. They bind his elbows together and, not yet satisfied, secure a chain connecting his neck to his feet.
The three men lift him and carry him to the living room, where, amidst the backdrop of his muffled groans, they proceed to rob him.
Amidst the commotion, Marsh tries in vain to untie himself; finding the task too difficult, he attempts to escape by crawling across the floor toward the living room door, trying to open it with his feet.
However, before he can succeed, he is seized and dragged away by his ankles. The men pull a silk pillowcase over his head and secure it tightly with a harness gag to prevent his escape.
As Marsh struggles, they weigh their options; dissatisfied with the initial loot, they decide on an alternative plan: they will record ransom videos to send to his company in exchange for a substantial sum. The three men lift him again and carry him to the basement to film the videos; they remove the pillowcase and seal his eyes shut with tape instead. Finally, they bind him in a severe, inescapable hogtie while they await the ransom.
